Frequently Asked Questions

Why use a capper instead of corks?

Chances are, if you're here, it's because you are interested in ROPP capping. While we can agree that the cork vs. 'twistie' debate will continue as long as there is wine to make (and drink!), using corks is becoming more expensive and the quality of corks is decreasing. Cork taint remains a significant problem for wine producers.

The two-part process of inserting a cork and applying a safety sleeve or other finish is additional work and effort compared to the one-time application of a screw cap.

With screw caps available with inexpensive custom printing, it is easy to customize your products with a professional-looking tamper-proof cap that opens with a simple twist of the wrist. We can all raise a glass to that!

What bottles and caps work best?

EasyCapper performs ideally with caps ranging from 29 to 31.5mm in diameter with various skirt lengths.

The best performers and ideal fit for the EasyCapper in our experience have been the standard sizes: 30mm diameter x 60mm length for wine. Other caps can be applied; however, some high shoulder containers are not readily compatible with the machine. We are happy to test bottles to confirm EasyCapper is a good match for your chosen container.

As for bottles, standard 750mL bottles are an ideal fit; however, the height adjustable feature allows for capping of bottles ranging from 200-1500mL, provided the cap size remains the same.

Do I need a dedicated space for this machine?

The Easy Capper is a tabletop machine that can be used anywhere that has access to a standard North American electrical outlet. With dimensions of 78 cm tall, 32 cm high, and 24 cm deep (31” x 12.5” x 9.5” for our non-metric friends), and weighing just 23kg (50lbs), EasyCapper will fit easily onto a counter top or be right at home on your production line.

How easy is it to cap?

Really? It’s easy. The EasyCapper is ready to use out of the box. If you can pull a lever and press a button at the same time, you can cap with the EasyCapper. Check out our video
